Bulfinch Crossing Secures $570 Million in Construction Financing
The Bulfinch Crossing development has secured $570 million in construction financing via Wells Fargo.
Bulfinch Crossing is a 2.9-million-square-foot multi-phased development project that will replace the existing above-grade concrete Government Center Garage with six mixed-use buildings, a pedestrian-friendly streetscape and a public plaza on two appropriately-scaled urban blocks spread across approximately 4.8 acres. The demolition of a major portion of the garage over Congress Street will allow for daylight to shine on Congress Street for the first time in more than 40 years.
$2.1M Fit-Out Permit Pulled for Weber Shandwick Office at 33 Arch St.
A permit valued at $2.1M has been issued for the fit-out to the 14th floor at 33 Arch Street, for the Weber Shandwick office. Weber Shandwick is one of the world's leading global public relations firms. Work to the 20,000 square feet space will include new drywall partitions plus electrical, plumbing, and sprinkler work and new finishes.

Gables is working with CBT Architects on the building design, and Halvorson Design on the roof deck and amenity spaces.
Facade Install Nearly Complete for The Sudbury
Facade work is nearly complete for The Sudbury, the residential tower at Bulfinch Crossing. The 45-story tower will feature 368 apartments plus 55 condos and is expected to open this coming spring. Resident amenities will include a rooftop garden and lounge, fitness facility and pool, clubroom, pet spa, and sky lounge.
Construction Ongoing at 100 Shawmut
Construction is ongoing for the upcoming condo building 100 Shawmut Ave. in the South End. Work continues on the historic brick facade that is being preserved as part of the project. When complete 100 Shawmut will offer 138 luxury residences plus a suite of resident amenities designed for entertaining including an entertaining kitchen, caterer's kitchen, and billiard room. The building will be topped by a sky lounge offering sweeping Boston views.
Construction Continues at MIT's 290-292 Main St.
Various stages of construction are ongoing at MIT's 290-292 Main Street project. The tower's higher modern level, where the graduate student housing will be located, has moved on to interior finishings while the ground-level retail space is actively undergoing construction and historical restoration of the exterior. When complete the building will feature 450 student housing units plus a childcare facility and around 10,000 square feet of retail space.
Building Permit Issued for One Congress
The building permit has been issued for the upcoming 43 story office tower at One Congress. The building will feature over 1M square feet of Class A office space along with 10,800 square feet of retail plus parking for 1159 cars. Building amenities will include a grand three-story lobby, conference facilities, a third-party operated fitness center, and a 1-acre landscaped terrace. The permit is valued at over $346M.
$4.76M Reno Permit Pulled for DLA Piper Offices at 33 Arch St.
Corderman & Company has pulled a permit for interior office renovations of the 25, 26th, and 27th floors, the DLA Piper offices, at 33 Arch Street. The phased project, valued at $4.76M will include selective demo, new millwork, flooring, painting and MEP's.
Interior Finishing Ongoing for Gables Seaport
Interior finish work is ongoing for the 307 luxury apartments at Gables Seaport along Congress Street directly next to the Silver Line MBTA Station. Gables Seaport will feature a mix of studios through 3 bedrooms and offer residents 24-hour concierge service, a clubroom and outdoor lounge, fitness center, and resort-inspired pool. As the building sits so close to the silver line, only 84 parking spaces are included on-site.
Framing Progressing for Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport
Framing continues on the upcoming Omni Seaport Hotel with the first set of windows going in at the corner of Summer & D Streets for what will be one of two towers connected by the three-story podium. The 1,055 room hotel will also include 120,000 square feet of meeting space plus an underground tunnel connecting the hotel to the Convention Center across the street. Construction is expected to last through 2021.

As facade and window install continue on the upper floors of the 45 story, 480-foot residential tower at Bulfinch Crossing, a name for the building has been announced, The Sudbury. Expected to welcome first residents this coming spring, The Sudbury will include 368 apartments along with 55 condos. Along with numerous building amenities, the homes here will offer one of a kind views across Boston.
CO Issued for Moxy Hotel
A certificate of occupancy has been issued for The Moxy Hotel with first guests expected in early October. The 24-story tower features 346 "micro" guest rooms, each room at the measuring in at around 175 square feet. Amenities at the Moxy include a rooftop bar and lounge as well as meeting rooms, a kitchen and dining area and a fitness center.
