Chelsea Multifamily Financed for $59M Colliers has arranged $59M in permanent financing for One North of Boston II. The multi-family building, completed in 2016 features 222 modern apartments along with a full suite of resident amenities. One North of Boston is located just off of Route 1 and steps from the Chelsea MBTA commuter rail station, a short drive or train ride to Downtown Boston. Colliers worked exclusively on behalf of the borrower, a Boston-based joint venture between Redgate Capital Partners, LLC and TransDel Corporation, to secure the ten-year, fixed-rate Fannie Mae DUS® Large Loan through an affiliate of Arbor Realty Trust, Inc.

$6M Fit-Out Permit Pulled for Horizons for Homeless Children Offices Kaplan Construction has pulled a permit valued at $6M for the fit-out of the Horizons for Homeless Children Offices at 1785 Columbus Avenue. The permits covers 40,000 square feet of space on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the new construction building and will include childcare and office space.

Kaplan Construction Will Build Out Horizons for Homeless Children HQ Kaplan Construction has been selected to build a 40,000 SF childcare center and headquarters for Horizons for Homeless Children, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of young homeless children and their families. Construction is expected to start later this spring and be completed in early 2021. The new early childhood center will consolidate three existing childcare centers into one. Serving 225 children ranging in age from two months to five years, it will include a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activity space, a family library and literacy center, flexible community and training space, and an art room. Indoor and outdoor spaces will incorporate trauma-informed design strategies to better serve children and families living in difficult situations. Two outdoor play areas totaling 10,000 SF were designed with the help of an occupational therapist and will be constructed on dedicated above-ground surfaces. Kaplan will only be able to access the roof from street level and will take on the added challenge of having to clear a 10-foot-high wall over the roof’s parapet. The early childhood center will be a part of the 140,000 SF Horizons Center, a unique public/private joint venture that will create a single and accessible home for social services agencies dedicated to transforming the education, health, and well-being of at-risk children and families in Boston.

Permit Pulled for Alarm Install at 1785 Columbus Avenue A permit has been pulled to install access control cameras and the alarm system at 1785 Columbus Avenue.  The new 7-story building located near Egleston Square in Roxbury will feature nearly 140,000 square feet of office space with ground-floor retail. Approximately 48,000 square feet of office space across the 2nd and 3rd floors will be used by Horizons for Homeless Children for childcare and administration.

CO Issued for Final Units at 500 Ocean Avenue A certificate of occupancy has been issued for the final 125 units at 500 Ocean Avenue in Revere. The mixed-use project features a total of 305 modern units along with ground-floor retail and restaurant space. Amenities within the building include an outdoor fitness deck, heated pool, co-working space, and urban farming on the roof deck.

Construction Wrapping Up at 500 Ocean Ave. in Revere Final touches are wrapping up at 500 Ocean Avenue in Revere. The transit-oriented project next to the Blue Line features 305 luxury apartments and over 13,000 square feet of amenity space. The building welcomed first residents this fall and the restaurant Dryft also opened as part of the ground floor retail/restaurant space.

Framing in Place for 1785 Columbus Ave. in Roxbury Framing is in place for the new 7-story office and retail building at 1785 Columbus Avenue in Roxbury. The project will feature approximately 48,000 square feet of office space on the 2nd and 3rd floors to be used by Horizons for Homeless Children plus another 87,500 square feet of office space designated for social service programs. The building will also feature 1,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space plus parking for 157 cars. 


South Bay Town Center

Facade Install Ongoing for Hilton Hotel at South Bay Facade install is now underway for the Hilton Hotel at the South Bay Center. The 6-story hotel will feature 130 guest rooms plus parking for 77 vehicles. The building is part of the redevelopment of the 10 acre South Bay Center in Dorchester. Construction is expected to wrap up in 2020.
