Marriott SpringHill Suites at Waterfront Square

Site Work Ongoing for Marriott SpringHill Suites in Revere Site work is ongoing for the upcoming SpringHill Suites by Marriott at Revere Beach.  The 6-story hotel will feature 168 guest-rooms, two levels of indoor parking, an indoor pool, a 5,000 square-foot restaurant, a 4,000 square-foot function room, and a Starbucks accessible via the neighborhood sky bridge.  Located next to the Wonderland MBTA station, the project will feature upscale state-of-the-art hotel rooms, a major restaurant and bar, recreational amenities, meeting facilities, a Starbuck’s coffee café, and on-site parking.  The projected is scheduled for completion in 2021.


J Malden Center

Final Units Set To Open on December 15th, 2019 at J Malden Center J Malden Center is a unique transit-oriented mixed-use development that includes 320 residential apartments, 45,000 square feet of office space that will become the new Malden City Hall, and more than 22,500 square feet of street retail.  First units are now available with the rest of the apartments expected to open in mid-December. Amenities at J Malden Center include a fitness center and mind/body studio, indoor solarium, club lounge, conference space and gaming areas – as well as over 21,000 square feet of outdoor space that features a swimming pool, lawn area, pergolas, fire pits, lawn games, ping pong, and outdoor kitchen and dining areas.  The property also features a roof deck featuring spectacular views of the Boston Skyline.

The project will feature a total of 195 apartments, 49 of which will be designated affordable. Resident amenities on-site will include a community lounge, fitness center and central courtyard with pool and entertaining space.  


500 Ocean Avenue

500 Ocean Ave. Set to Welcome First Residents in Early November Finishing touches are underway for the first set of units at 500 Ocean Avenue along Revere Beach just North of Boston. The project will include 305 units in total currently ranging in price from $1950 for studios through nearly $5000 for 3 bedroom homes. The project also offers unique two-story loft layouts (pictured below) and of course many units with ocean views. 


The Abby

Framing Kicks Off for The Abby: Target Announced as Retail Anchor Tenant While an official groundbreaking ceremony was held earlier this week, framing has started for The Abby, the mixed-use project being built next to the MBTA North Quincy Station. The Abby, named for former first lady Abigail Adams, will also include 50,000 square feet of retail space. The development team announced at the ground-breaking that Target will anchor the retail component. The new parking garage on the site is set to open first in summer 2020 with Building A (to include 218 apartments plus the Target) to follow in spring 2021. In total 610 units will be spread across 3 buildings plus the project will also include 1,519 parking spaces 852 that are reserved for MBTA commuters. The Abby will offer residents an array of amenities including a fitness center with group fitness and studio areas, a solarium, a club lounge, an entertainment kitchen, billiards, a dog spa, a bike fix-it shop, an outdoor pool with grills, an outdoor dog run and two landscaped courtyards.


Maples Crossing

Maples Crossing in Amesbury Breaks Ground Global Property Developers Corporation along with Governor Baker and Secretary Kennealy celebrated the groundbreaking for Maples Crossing last week. Maples Crossing will offer a variety of dining, entertainment, health & wellness, business and sport facilities. The 420,000 square foot development, which will include a 2,500 seat event center, six hockey rinks and 150,000 SF of multi-use leasing opportunities. Formerly known as the Atlantic Center, the development was re-branded as Maples Crossing to pay homage to Amesbury’s hockey history. Construction Wrapping Up at 249 Third: Expected Opening Later This Month Construction is nearly complete for the 84 unit residential project at 249 Third Street in Kendall Square. The new building includes a mix of studios through three-bedrooms ranging in price from $3120 through $6325 per month. Resident amenities will include a private roof deck and landscaped courtyard. First units are expected to be available around September 15th.


The Abby

Work Begins on Concrete Podium for North Quincy MBTA Project Construction on the site next to the North Quincy MBTA station is ongoing with the beginning of concrete cores taking shape and sections of the podium. The upcoming mixed-use project will bring over 600 apartments and 50,000 square feet of commercial/retail space to this former parking lot. The project will also include 1,600 parking spaces to replace the 852 that were previously on the site.  Construction on phase 1 of the project is expected to be completed in 2020.   


One Beachmont

One Beachmont Refinanced for $52.75 Million The development at 250 Revere Beach Parkway, also known as One Beachmont has been refinanced via Northwestern Mutual for $52.75 million. The six-story building opened in January 2019 and features 195 luxury apartment residences located on 6.2 acres steps from Revere Beach and the MBTA Blue Line. Residences at One Beachmont include studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms, ranging in size from 482 to 1,121 square feet.


One North of Boston

One North of Boston Refinanced for $53.25 Million One North of Boston, a multifamily development located in Chelsea, MA has been refinanced via Northwestern Mutual for $53.25 million. One North of Boston is located just off of Route 1 and steps from the Chelsea MBTA commuter rail station, a short drive or train ride to Downtown Boston. The multiphase development offers amenities including on-site garage parking, a basketball court, yoga and fitness studios, a resident lounge and a dog park.


Hilton Garden Inn Brookline/Boston

Hilton Garden Inn Brookline Tops Off The 11-story Hilton Garden Inn Brookline/Boston topped off earlier this month. The hotel is set to feature 174 rooms, a restaurant and lounge area, conference space, fitness center, swimming pool, business center, and a 24-hour pavilion pantry. The 111,100 SF hotel will also house a ground-floor café with outdoor seating. Additionally, a 70-space parking garage will be located on the hotel’s second level, providing ease of access for guests.  The property sought to maximize space at the narrow .437-acre lot. A curved corner design draws attention to the building, which sits at the intersection of Brookline Avenue and Route 9. With the topping off now complete, Callahan will begin work on the building’s glass façade.  Located at 700 Brookline Ave, the property is the former site of a Gulf gas station that was demolished in 2016. The building is conveniently located adjacent to the Longwood Medical area and one block to the Riverway T Station. The Hilton Garden Inn select service hotel is set to open in fall 2020.
