$2M Plumbing Permit Pulled for Innovation Square Phase 2
A permit valued at $2M has been pulled plumbing for the core and shell of phase 2 at Innovation Square. The Seaport building will offer 265,000 square feet of lab ready space. Amenities at Innovation Square will include a collaboration center, a fitness center, and a green space. Innovation Square will feature 60 on-site parking spaces, in addition to bicycle storage. Construction is expected to last through the first quarter of 2021.
$3M Lab/Office Fit-Out Permit Pulled for Ginkgo Bioworks Space at 27 Drydock
A permit valued at over $3M has been pulled by The Richmond Group for the fit-out of the lab/office space on the 8th floor of 27 Drydock in the Seaport, home of Ginkgo Biowoks. The biotech startup founded by MIT grad students and their then-professor raised $290M in new funding this past fall and now has a valuation of $4B.
Permit Pulled for Gas Equipment & Piping Install at The Quinn
Cannistraro has pulled permits for the install of gas fixtures/equipment and piping for 370-380 Harrison Ave. in the South End. The Quinn will feature 172 apartments, 101 luxury condos, and around 8,500 square feet of ground-floor retail. Resident amenities will include an indoor lap pool with a sauna & waterfall, a library lounge, fitness center with squash court, and a sports lounge.
$4.2M Electrical Permit Pulled for Phase 2 of Innovation Square
A permit valued at $4.2M has been pulled by McDonald Electrical Corporation for the install of the full electrical system at 316-318 Northern Ave. The site is the second phase of Innovation Square and will include approximately 265,000 square feet of lab ready space. Construction is expected to last through the first quarter of 2021.
Innovation Square Mortgaged for $189 Million
Innovation Square in Boston's Seaport District has been mortgaged via Bank of America for $189 million.
The four-story, 375,000 square foot research, development, and manufacturing facility is located on the east end of Boston's booming Seaport District. The first phase of Innovation Square is a four-story, 125,000-square-foot building, anchored by a two-floor, 54,000-square-foot office for Mass Innovation Labs. The second phase will feature 260,000 square feet of lab ready space.
South End Property Trades for $5.8 Million
The property at 6A Appleton Street in Boston's South End has been acquired by Related Beal for $5.8 million.
The property features a four-story 6,163 square foot brick multifamily building that was constructed in 1899 and contains 4 three-bedroom units.
Site Clear & Early Stages of Construction Underway at Kenmore Square North
Drilling and scaffolding are now seen at Kenmore Square North located at 660 Beacon Street. When completed, the multi-building project is expected to feature six-story buildings with a mix of office, creative and retail spaces on 650, 652, 654, 658 and 660 Beacon Street.
Related Beal Files LOI for A Street Site
Related Beal has filed a letter of intent for a 1.1M square foot mixed-use project on the 244-248A Street site in Fort Point. The project would include a roughly 366,000 square foot residential building, an office building of approximately 334,000 square feet, and a 400,000 square foot lab/r&d building. The residential and office buildings would be around 180 feet tall with the lab building at 123 feet. The project would also include significant public realm improvements plus new parks and open space.
The Quinn Tops Off
The Quinn in Boston's South End has topped off and facade install is well underway. The 14-story building will feature 273 residential units, including 172 rental apartments and 101 luxury condominiums. Resident amenities will include an 8,000 square foot fitness facility, indoor pool, plus a 12th floor landscaped terrace. The Quinn will also feature around 8,500 square feet of ground-floor retail plus parking for 180 cars.
Sales Kick-Off for The Quinn in the South End

$2.43 Permit Pulled for Silicon TX Expansion at 451 D St.
PIDC Construction has pulled a permit valued at $2,437,000 for the expansion of the Silicon Therapeutics office at 451 D Street. The work includes new lab space, work stations, plus a conference room and kitchen space.
Building Permit Pulled for New Construction at Kenmore North
Related Beal has pulled a building permit to kick off construction of the new 8-story building that will be a key piece in the Kenmore North Development. This new building at 535-545 Commonwealth Avenue will feature 165,000 square feet of office space along with ground-floor retail and restaurant space. As part of the project, two buildings at 11-19 Deerfield Street and 642-648 Beacon Street at either end of the portfolio would be modestly improved. while the 4 buildings at 650-660 Beacon Street will be fully renovated.
