Framing Begins for The Quinn, 370-380 Harrison Ave. Framing has kicked off for Related Beal's 370-380 Harrison Avenue project now dubbed The Quinn (after the Quinzani's Bakery formerly on the site). The 14-story building will contain 273 residential units, including 172 rental apartments and 101 condominiums, and 8,500 square feet of ground-floor retail. Condos will range in size from studios through 4 bedrooms. Three levels of parking under the building will have space for 180 cars.  


The Whitney

Interior Finishing Wrapping up for The Whitney: Anticipated Opening August 1st Interior finishing is wrapping up for Beacon Hill's newest hotel, The Whitney. The 66 room project features a redesign and renovation of the John Jeffries house on the site along with a 12,000 square foot addition. On-site amenities will include a fitness center, Peregine restaurant, and a landscaped courtyard. The Whitney is now booking reservations for August 1st.

NPC Approved for 15-19 Congress The Notice of Project change for 15-19 Congress Street, part of the Congress Square development has been approved by the BPDA. The approval calls for approximately 116 hotel guestrooms instead of 35 condominiums. Retail space will continue to be included on the ground floor and there is virtually no change to the structure and massing of the building.

Fort Point Property Sells for $218 Million Related Beal has acquired the property at 244-284 A Street in Boston's Fort Point neighborhood for $218 million. The property features a 275,686 square foot parking lot/vacant parcel of land along the Fort Point Channel. The land sits adjacent to the future GE Headquarters dubbed Innovation Point. The parking lot sits in a blossoming location in Fort Point with the Seaport District and South Boston nearby.

Courtyard Marriott Hotel at The Beverly Refinanced for $90 Million The Courtyard Marriott Hotel at The Beverly in Boston has been refinanced for $90 million via HSBC Bank. The 220-room Courtyard Marriott hotel is part of the 14-story mixed-use building featuring 239 top-quality, mixed-income apartment residences, that also features 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.

Work Begins on Concrete Core for 370-380 Harrison Avenue The three levels of parking under 370-380 Harrison are nearing completion and work is starting on the concrete core of the project. The new building will feature a total of 273 units, 172 rentals & 101 condos. The project will bring renewed vitality to a former vacant factory site, connecting the emergent New York Streets neighborhood and the South End. At the base of the building will be a tree-lined streetscape and 8,500 square feet of retail space. Construction is expected to be complete in 2020.

Notice of Project Change at Innovation Square The developers of Innovation Square at 6 Tide Street in Boston's Seaport District have filed a notice of project change for the project. The proposed changes would add 10,000 square feet of local retail, restaurant, and services space along Northern Avenue, as well as 45 parking spaces. Amenities at Innovation Square will include a collaboration center, a fitness center, and green space. Innovation Square will feature 60 on-site parking spaces, in addition to bicycle storage. The building will feature on-site rapid transit access and is located across from Harpoon Brewery, minutes from Downtown Boston, Logan Airport and Interstates 90 and 93. The Whitney

Facade Install Complete for The Whitney: Blends New Construction with Historic Building The brick facade for the new construction 12,000 square foot addition to The Whitney is in place, mirroring the brick on the historic John Jeffries house that is being renovated as part of the development project. In total, the new boutique hotel will feature 65 guest rooms, include 4 suites. A new restaurant created by the award-winning team of Joshua Lewin and Katrina Jazayeri will be housed on the first floor of the building.  The project, named for Henry Melville Whitney—an American Industrialist and founder of the West End Railway Company, blends in well with the surrounding Beacon Hill neighborhood. The Whitney expects to welcome guests on July 1st, 2019.


Congress Square

Project Change Filed for 15-19 Congress Street Hemisphere Development has submitted an NPC to change the project of 15 Congress Street from 35 condo units to a 116 room hotel.  A five-story addition originally proposed is still in the plans and retail and restaurant space will also remain in place on the ground floor.  15-19 Congress Street is part of the Congress Square redevelopment that will help to transform Quaker Lane from a forgotten service way into a pedestrian-friendly, European-style arcade, with cafes and outdoor seating.


Chestnut Park Apartments

MassHousing Provides $50 Million for Renovation of Chestnut Park Apartments in Springfield MassHousing has provided $50 million in financing for the renovation of Chestnut Park Apartments in Springfield, MA. MassHousing financing will allow Related to preserve affordability at the 489-unit housing community, while making a significant capital investment in the property. As part of the transaction, Related will create 77 workforce housing units that will be affordable to moderate-income households. The Chestnut Park Apartments were built in the 1970s under the HUD 236 financing program. The development includes a 33-story tower with a connected four-level parking garage, an 18-story building, a nine-story building and a five-story building with a connected two-level parking garage. The property also includes 19,000 square feet of commercial space. The Chestnut Park Apartments are within walking distance to the MassMutual Center and MGM Springfield Casino and near Springfield’s Innovation, Downtown Business and Museum districts.

Congress Square Refinanced for $190.73 Million The Congress Square development located in Boston's Financial District has been refinanced for $190.73 million. The project consists of a 458,300-square-foot mixed-use development featuring a state-of-the-art hotel, office, residential and retail space located in the heart of Downtown Boston overlooking Post Office Square. Five historic buildings will be fully restored, and new additions will be constructed for a total of 92,700 square feet of new construction.

Foundation Work Ongoing for 370-380 Harrison Work continues on the concrete mat slab for the upcoming mixed-use building at the corner of Harrison and East Berkeley Street in the South End. The tower crane is also in place for the 14-story project. The building will feature a total of 273 residences, a mix of rentals and condos, along with 8,500sf of ground floor retail.
