Framing Kicks Off for Omni Seaport
With the concrete cores on the site climbing, framing has also started for the upcoming Omni Hotel in Boston's busy Seaport. The 1,055 room hotel will feature the city's largest ballroom and a 4th-floor pool deck that will allow guests to host year-round events featuring views of the Boston skyline. The luxury hotel will also offer guests access to the Mokara Spa, a state of the art fitness center, and numerous dining options including a French brasserie & boulangerie. The Omni Seaport is set to open in early 2021.

PNF Filed for 1515 Commonwealth Avenue Project
The Davis Companies has filed a project notification form for the proposed 330 unit residential project to replace the vacant medical building at 1515 Commonwealth Avenue. The plans call for a 340,000 square foot building with 40,000 square feet of new green space along Commonwealth Avenue. Units within the building would be a mix of condos and apartments (currently projected as 155 condos & 175 rentals). Around 200 parking spaces would be provided in a partially at-grade and below-grade garage. The tallest portion of the building is 17 stories, located on the northern portion of the Project Site closer to the higher density buildings along Commonwealth Avenue while the remainder of the building will range from six to nine stories.

Shell Nearly Complete for 900 Winter Street in Waltham
Construction continues on the upcoming 220,0000 square foot lab and office facility, leased to Alkermes to expand its R&D facilities in Waltham. The new building will be an on-campus expansion of Alkermes’ current facility within Reservoir Woods at 852 Winter Street. Construction is expected to wrap up next year.

The Davis Companies Celebrate Groundbreaking at 100 Shawmut
The Davis Companies held a groundbreaking celebration for the launch of 100 Shawmut in Boston's South End. The development will feature a 13-story, 138-unit residential project with a 980-square-foot ground-floor cafe which would be located at the intersection of Herald Street and Shawmut Avenue in the South End’s rapidly developing New York Streets neighborhood.

Foundation Construction Ongoing for The Mark at DeNormandie Wharf
Foundation work is ongoing along the East Boston Waterfront for The Mark at DeNormandie Wharf. The upcoming 107 unit luxury project has already sold 50% of the units in Phase II. Resident amenities at The Mark will include an outdoor waterfront terrace along with a billiards lounge and movie/golf lounge. The development is located just a few blocks from Maverick Square.

Letter of Intent Filed for 330 Unit Residential Development at 1515 Commonwealth Avenue
The Davis Companies has filed a letter of intent with the BPDA to demolish the vacant hospital property at 1515 Commonwealth Avenue and build a residential project to contain around 330 units. Per the filing, the project would be between 9 and 16 stories and include approximately 200 parking spaces.
Units would be a mix of condos and rentals (155 condos, 175 rentals). The Davis Companies purchased the site in January 2018 for $15.75 million.

Cores Rapidly Rising for Omni Seaport
Concrete cores are rapidly rising for the Omni Seaport Hotel. The massive, 1055 room hotel will offer direct access to the Boston Convention Center via an existing underground tunnel. The hotel will also include 120,000 square feet of meeting and event space including two large 25,000-square-foot and 15,500-square-foot ballrooms, 35,000 square feet of restaurant space, 5,000 square feet of retail space and an 8,500-square-foot spa and fitness center. The project is targeting LEED Silver certification and is expected to be complete in early 2021.

Demo Underway at 112 Shawmut Ave in the South End
The partial demo of an existing six-story former office building at the corner of Shawmut Ave. and Herald Street in the South End is underway. The street-facing facades will be saved and incorporated into the design of the new 13-story building. This building is set to include 139 residential units along with a ground floor commercial/restaurant space and parking for 110 cars. Resident amenities will include a rooftop deck with Boston views.
112 Shawmut Avenue is one of three buildings that will be part of the Shawmut Avenue/Washington Street Block re-development that will create a total of would 536 residential units along with additional commercial and community space. The second building in the project, 120 Shawmut Avenue, will include the expansion of the Boston Chinese Evangelical Church to consolidate BCEC’s services onto one site. The third building, 50 Herald Street, currently owned by the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of New England building will contain 313 residential units with ground floor retail, commercial, cultural, and/or community space along Washington Street.

Site Work Begins for The Mark at DeNormandie Wharf
With sales of the luxury waterfront building already underway, site work has started for The Mark at DeNormandie Wharf in East Boston. The project will include 107 condominium residences with over 6,500 square feet of ground-floor public shared workspace. Resident amenities at The Mark will include a 5,045 square foot private elevated courtyard with grilling areas, fitness and wellness spaces, lounge areas and small, programmable function spaces. As part of the project, a new 240 linear foot Harborwalk section will be constructed along Boston Harbor, filling a missing link in the Harborwalk between Carlton Wharf and Lo Presti Park.

Work Begins on Cores for Omni Seaport
Work has started on 2 concrete cores for the upcoming Omni Seaport across from the Boston Convention Center. The 788,5000 square foot building will house around 1,055 hotel rooms along with meeting and event space, retail, restaurant, and a fitness center with spa. Over 275 of the guest rooms will be "innovation rooms" at around 250 square feet in size. With the largest hotel ballroom in the Seaport and 100,000 square feet of flexible space, Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport should prove to be a hub for meetings and events. The Omni is set to open in early 2021.

The Studio Allston Hotel Refinanced for $24 Million
The Studio Allston Hotel has been refinanced via the Cambridge Trust Company for $24 million.
The property features a 5-story, 58,550 square foot boutique hotel located in the Allston neighborhood of Boston. The 117-room boutique hotel first opened in 2018 and is a converted building from the 1960's.
