3 Projects Advance in Planning and Development Phases in Boston

3 projects in Boston have made progress in planning and development stages. Building 108 in Charlestown’s Navy Yard received a designated developer to move the redevelopment project forward while the approved Kenmore Square Hotel and under-construction 632-638 Centre Street projects were awarded parcel swaps and design changes respectively. Approval was also given by board members for Mayor Walsh’s proposed Linkage fee increases. Check out the details of the approved projects below.

Building 108 - Charlestown Navy Yard

Power House Partners, an affiliate of Conroy Development, have won a bid to redevelop the long vacant Building 108 in the Charlestown Navy Yard. The developer proposes to construct a new 65,000 SF building featuring 44,000 SF of lab space and 18,000 SF of ground-floor restaurant and retail space. The new building would stand 4-stories above the site.

Kenmore Square Hotel

Mark Development won approval for a demonstration project at 660 Beacon Street, crucial to move forward in development of the Kenmore Square Hotel. The developer and the City of Boston will be able to swap parcel square footage to move the project site eastward to accommodate the planned public improvements.

632-638 Centre Street

Approval was granted to changes to an under-construction mixed-use project in Jamaica Plain. The project, currently under construction, calls for the creation of 12 apartments across 3 floors with ground-level retail for four tenants. GCB Realty's new proposal would add a fourth floor to the project and bring the total number of units to 18 apartments, with four being designated as affordable. Construction is expected to wrap up in June 2022.
