BioMed Secures $680M For Kendall Square Lab
BioMed Realty has secured a $683,129,325 mortgage through Japanese banking firm, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, for the upcoming 16-story lab under construction at 585 Third Street in Kendall Square. In 2022, BioMed announced that Takeda had agreed to lease the 600,000-square-foot project. The building, expected to be ready for occupancy in 2026, will incorporate industry-leading sustainability features designed to achieve LEED Gold or higher designation. The building also will include a 15,000 sf all-season flexible space on the ground floor and a 400-seat theater on the upper floors.
