Developer Selected for Austin St. Parking Lots in Charlestown: 600+ Units Planned
The development team led by Trinity Financial has been selected to redevelop the Austin Street Parking lots in Charlestown. Trinity's proposal calls for 4 buildings across 2 phases to include 686 residential units and 21,000 square feet of retail space. The residential units will be a mix of apartments and condos with over 400 of the residences designated affordable. The project team has also been in discussions with Charlestown Nursery about the possibility of expanding their daycare services to this new location. Plans also include broad, multi-acre open spaces to support residents, community, and youth sports along with 11,200 SF of space devoted to Arts & Culture. All buildings will be constructed to Passive House standards, incorporating all-electric HVAC systems, robust building envelopes, and rooftop solar to significantly reduce the development’s carbon footprint and ensure affordable utility costs for residents.
