Novavax Planning Expansion of Gaithersburg Campus
Novavax has submitted sketch plans for an expansion of their campus in Gaithersburg. When complete the project would include up to 1,604,929 square feet of development, a mix of lab/office, and light industrial space along with around 15,000 square feet of retail on the 15.38-acre property. The project also calls for a parking structure & open, green space. As Novaavax is operating under the Federal Government’s Operation Warp Speed the development team is looking to gain entitlement approvals as quickly as possible for Block 2 in order to begin construction of: the structured parking and the Novavax buildings in two to three sub-phases. Block 3, by the nature of its current use and long-term leases will likely be the final element to be developed by others and will therefore be designed to integrate into the established Blocks 1 and 2 upon redevelopment.
