About Harborwalk Residences
125 Sumner Street, East Boston, Boston, MA
Approved mixed-income, a transit-oriented mixed-use development which will replace the East Boston Waterfront's aging 1.1-acre, 20-unit Clippership Apartments public housing development with 52 new residences. Two new 3-story wood-framed buildings will be constructed; one building will contain approximately 22 affordable rental apartment residences, and the other will contain 30 mixed-income condominium residences. Apartments will include 3 and 4-bedrooms, and condominiums will include studio, one-, two- and three bedrooms. 14 condominiums will be designated affordable.
A 1,040 square foot public Community Room facing Boston Harbor connected to an outdoor patio with sweeping harbor and downtown skyline views will be located in the apartment building. The apartment building will also contain approximately 3,400 square feet of ground-floor retail facing Sumner Street. Approximately 19 surface parking spaces and 50 bicycle storage spaces will be located on site for residents. 4 existing 2-story buildings constructed in 1974 will be demolished.
The 125 Sumner Street site is located across from the under-construction Clippership Wharf waterfront mixed-use development, which is also developed by Lend Lease.
