OH WOW! The Roger and Gloria Jones Children’s Center Update 01/22/21

Cambridge Firm Starts Renovations at Ohio Children's Museum

Construction for Phase 1 of OH WOW! The Roger and Gloria Jones Children’s Center in Youngstown, Ohio started this month. The popular children's museum is undergoing interior renovations to improve visitor circulation and revitalize exhibits. Cambridge-based architecture and design firm, CambridgeSeven is working with the museum to relocate the Engineering Gallery and to create a new Sensory Room. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the distances between offices and the project site, the design team is collaborating remotely with web-based digital design and communication software. Along with 3,000 square feet of renovations, they are also relocating the main entrance and lobby experience to improve the museum's street presence and entry sequence. The museum is expecting a grand reopening when Phase 1 is complete in May 2021.
