RODE Architects Inc. is a collaborative design team led by its two Principals and owners, Eric J. Robinson and Kevin S. Deabler. Located in Boston, Massachusetts and founded in 2005, RODE’s approach to design follows an iterative process that molds its client’s ideas, experiences and goals into spaces that exceed expectations. The combined, diverse experience of the Principals allows RODE to provide a far-reaching range of design services, from master planning and feasibility surveys to project management and innovative architectural solutions. Clients have included developers, private individuals, business owners and educational institutions.

Principals Eric and Kevin are each LEED Accredited Professionals and registered architects with a working relationship that spans nearly 20 years, back to their undergraduate studies in design and architecture. Today, RODE is the professional fermentation of their unique skills and capabilities. Their flexible process, combined with an inherent, tight collaboration with their clients, has allowed them to create a design portfolio spanning from projects such as residential additions, housing developments and educational environments.

The building will include 145 rental units, 21 of which will be affordable along with parking for 61 cars. The ground floor of the project will also include 3,200 square feet of retail space which the development team hopes to fill with a local market or daycare.

Framing Underway for 101-105 Washington St in Brighton Framing is underway for the upcoming mixed-use development at 101-105 Washington Street in Brighton. The project will include a new synagogue and mikvah facility along with a residential building located next to the Washington Street T stop. The residential building will stand seven stories tall and will consist of 70 rental units, 9 of which will be designated affordable. The rental units will be 1 and 2-bedroom units and residents will have access to amenities including a roof deck and a rooftop lounge.

Shanti Acquisition received approval from the BPDA to construct a 34 unit condo project on the site this past August. The new project would also include 29 below-grade parking spaces and 8,000 square feet of landscaped open space.

3368 Washington St. Project Will Get $5M in Linkage Payments At the January BPDA meeting, the board voted to approve $5M in housing linkage payments from One Congress at Bulfinch Crossing toward the approved development at 3368 Washington St. project. 3368 Washington will include 202 income-restricted apartments, 140 of which would be housing units with support services for men and women moving out of homelessness. The project will also 18,000 square feet of office space on the ground floor and community space and amenities for residents.

The project will also include a 22 car parking garage.

Building Permit Issued for 101-105 Washington St. in Brighton A building permit valued at $11.375M has been pulled by Brookline Development Corp to begin work on the approved project at 101-105 Washington Street in Brighton. Both existing buildings on the site will be demolished and three new buildings will be constructed including a new residential building containing 73 rental units as well as a new synagogue and ritual bath. Resident amenities will include a roof deck and a rooftop lounge.

Framing Going Up for Addition at 69 A St. in South Boston Framing is going up for the two-story addition being added to the existing building at 69 A Street in South Boston. The renovation of the former factory building will create 33,700 square feet of office space and 12,000 square feet of retail space, including space for a new gym. An on-site parking garage will also be built with the capacity for 18 cars.

The Mezz

The Mezz in Southie Tops Off The Mezz, at 420 West Broadway in South Boston has officially topped off. The project will feature 42 luxury condos over 1,350 square feet of retail space. The Mezz is located on the site of the shuttered Broadway Theater -- the theater's lobby is being restored into a residential lobby and retail space. Resident amenities will include a rooftop garden and a zen patio.
