Shaw Construction has been an industry leader for more than 55 years. They’ve pioneered construction philosophies, methods, practices, visions and approaches. They build more than world-class projects and long-lasting monuments.
With a toolbox in his station wagon and a desk in his apartment, George Shaw founded the origins of Shaw Construction in 1962. He began by building a friend’s home. As he built relationships he grew the company and by the mid-1970s Shaw was completing work throughout Denver and in most major mountain towns around the Rocky Mountain region.
Shaw’s love of alpine skiing and Colorado’s high country led him to champion his building teams to minimize environmental impacts. Sustainable and green building practices were part of standard operating procedures within Shaw Construction long before LEED initiated industry-wide sustainable practices.
