Cranshaw Construction is a general contracting and construction management company with practical design and construction experience. Founded in 1983, the company has successfully completed over 20 million square feet of commercial space, totaling close to $2 billion in suburban and downtown Boston in the last 31 years. They have successfully completed a variety of complex projects ranging from shopping centers, assisted living and manufacturing/research and development facilities to television stations and first class office developments.

 

Cranshaw Construction is an affiliate of National Development, an interdisciplinary real estate firm providing development, property management and investment acquisition services. The company’s affiliation with National Development helps Cranshaw Construction to take an “owner’s perspective” in managing the construction of a project from the earliest conceptual phases through final occupancy.

 

The synergies and feedback received from the other disciplines and services provided by National Development, such as the property management division, allows Cranshaw Construction to have first hand and up to date knowledge as to what building elements and design operate most efficiently and cost effectively without compromising the marketability of the product in the future.

 

The team understands that there are multiple approaches to the development, design and construction of any particular project. Each project presents its own set of unique challenges that must be analyzed and balanced with the owner’s objectives to arrive at the best possible solution.

The Mark at DeNormandie Wharf

Work Underway on Cast-In-Place Podium at The Mark in East Boston   Work is now underway for the cast-in-place podium for the upcoming 107 unit luxury condo project, The Mark at DeNormandie Wharf. The 6-story building will also feature 6,500 square feet of shared workspace plus parking for 80 cars. Residents will have access to a private fitness center with several immersive entertainment lounges. 


37 North Beacon Street

Plumbing Permit Pulled for 37 North Beacon A plumbing permit valued at over $1.1M has been pulled for the two-building project at 37 North Beacon Street in Allston. The development will feature a five-story 74 unit apartment building and a smaller 4-story building to include 9 condos. Amenities at 37 North Beacon Street would include a rooftop terrace with Boston skyline views, a fitness center, and a street-level art gallery.

Interior Finishing Ongoing for Brighton Marine Interior finishing is ongoing for the 100 new apartments at Brighton Marine along Commonwealth Avenue. The project which will be leased with preference for veterans is expected to open this winter. Units range in size from studios three bedrooms and offer open-concept floor plans and modern kitchens.  Building amenities will include a fitness center, club room, and courtyard.

Building Permit Issued for 7INK by Ollie With the site clear, a building permit valued at $52M has been issued for 217 Albany Street, the 7INK by Ollie project. The upcoming 14-story building, the final piece of the INK Block, will feature 180 units of co-living. The building will also provide a full range of services, unique community engagements and extraordinary shared amenity spaces.

Site Clear for 7Ink by Ollie in the South End Demo has wrapped up and the site is now clear for 7Ink by Ollie. Located along Albany Street in the South End, 7Ink will offer 180 co-living units, all fully furnished and complete with cleaning service and other hotel-style amenities. The building will also provide a full suite of amenities plus unique opportunities for community engagement.


455 Grand Union Blvd​

Work Continues on 455 Grand Union Blvd Construction is ongoing for 455 Grand Union Blvd in Somerville. The project being developed by Federal Realty Investment Trust will include around 237,600 square feet of office space, 150,000 of which will be home to Puma North America. Office space will accommodate an open floor plan layout with abundant natural lighting and sweeping views. Communal roof terraces will be located on the building’s 6th and 13th floors. Additionally, 6-levels of open-air parking will be constructed within the building's footprint.

Work Continues on Assembly Row Block 8 Construction is ongoing for Assembly Row Block 8 in Somerville. Assembly Row Block 8 is a 24-story building featuring 500 new apartments, and approximately 26,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space. Multiple amenities will be located on site for residents, including a 4th floor courtyard with a pool & private patios, a rooftop terrace, almost 300 parking spaces and bike storage. 


37 North Beacon Street

Building Permit Granted for 37 N. Beacon St. A building permit has been pulled to construct the two-building project at 37 North Beacon Street in Allston. The project will consist of a five-story building to feature 74 apartments plus a smaller 4-story building to include 9 condos.  Amenities at 37 North Beacon Street would include a rooftop terrace with Boston skyline views, a fitness center, and a street-level art gallery. 42 parking spaces would be located on-site, in addition to storage for 83 bicycles.


Old Colony Phase III

Plumbing Permits Pulled for Old Colony Phase III Two plumbing permits have been pulled by EM Duggan for upcoming new buildings along East 8th Street and Rev. Burke St. in South Boston as part of phase III of the Old Colony redevelopment. The project will replace 250 aging units of public housing with 301 new affordable apartments. 


Mount Carmel Development

Demo Permit App Filed for Portions of Mount Carmel Site in East Boston The Boston Landmarks Commission has received an application to demolish several structures along Gove Street in East Boston as part of the Mount Carmel redevelopment project. The existing rectory and convent buildings will be demolished to make way for a new 98 unit residential building while the church building will be renovated to feature 14 units. The project will also include parking for 84 cars. 


960 Massachusetts Avenue & 100 Newmarket Street

Framing Ongoing for Revamp of 960 Mass. Ave. Framing is ongoing for the addition and renovations at 960 Mass. Ave. in Roxbury. The revamped space will offer open floor plates to accommodate light industrial and flex-tech users along with a new facade. The project is located just minutes from South Bay Center and Newmarket Commuter Rail Station.


The Mark at DeNormandie Wharf

Cranes in Place at The Mark at DeNormandie Wharf Cranes are in place and framing is set to begin for The Mark at DeNormandie Wharf in East Boston. The waterfront mixed-use development will feature 107 condominium residences with over 6,500 square feet of ground-floor publicly-accessible waterfront work share space. Resident amenities at The Mark are set to include a 5,045 square foot private elevated courtyard with grilling areas, fitness and wellness spaces, lounge areas and small, programmable function spaces. Seven residences at The Mark will be designated affordable.
